Sporting moments captured in our new book

A new book has been released taking at look at 12 moments of Coventry sporting history including Olympic medals, first places, broken records and lots of trophies wins.
Coventry author, Aaron Ashmore, has released ‘Coventry’s Sporting Moments’ which follows his previous books which include ‘Lady Godiva’s Birthday Suit’, ‘Coventry; The Phoenix City’ and ‘The Time Travelling Coventry Taxi’.
Aaron said: “Taking a closer look at the 12 Coventry sporting moments has been a pleasure and has brought back memories of the many times I have been proud of Coventry. I hope it helps to inspire the next generation of Coventry athletes and sports stars.”

‘Coventry's Sporting Moments' include medal wins for David Moorcroft, Marlon Devonish, Kare Adenegan and Chelsie Giles, trophy-winning teams including Coventry Bears Rugby League Club, Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Team and Coventry City FC plus broken world records from Eileen Sheridan and Thrust SSC.
Alan Robinson, founder and former-player of Coventry Bears Rugby Club, said: “I feel deeply honoured to be included in Aaron’s latest book.
“It’s fantastic that Coventry Bears has been recognised alongside other sports and shows it’s not just who you are but what we do in the community that gains local recognition and builds upon the clubs legacy.”
Although created with children in mind, the book is suitable for all ages and will bring back memories of sporting moments in Coventry's history.
The book is 28 pages and features amazing artwork by Jez Hill who captures iconic legends of Coventry's sporting history across a range of different sports.
As with all Etch & Pin books, 1,000 copies of the book will be heading to Coventry schools free of charge and takes the total to 7,000 books donated to date.
